Middleport Pottery is set to welcome in the festive season with a Christmas festival featuring a traditional market, live music and family-friendly entertainment.

Taking place on Saturday 14 November, the event will run from 12pm to 8pm, transforming the historic Stoke-on-Trent pottery site and its canal-side surroundings into a festive celebration.

Visitors can browse the atmospheric Christmas market, illuminated by a Christmas tree, and enjoy a special appearance from Father and Mary Christmas.

There will also be plenty to keep younger visitors entertained, with a programme of festive children's activities and opportunities to get creative.

The festival will also feature live performances from Rock Choir, Trentham Brass Band and the North Staffs Accordion Band, alongside 6Towns Radio and entertainment from Koogie the Draft Horse.

Those looking to get ahead with their Christmas shopping can browse a selection of independent traders and locally made gifts, with stalls including Castle Artisan Market, Canadian Pine Co, Loveknott Creations, Alex Allday Ceramics, Burleigh Shop and Middleport Pottery Gift Shop.

Food and drink will also be available from The Packing House Café, SIPs Mobile Bar and other onsite vendors.

A highlight for younger visitors will be the arrival of Santa and Mrs Claus aboard the narrowboat Dane, with opportunities to have photographs taken with them. Creative activities will include 'Dress Like a Potter' and lino printing sessions.

Admission costs £6 for visitors aged 10 and over, while under-10s can attend for free. Free parking is available at the Steelite International car park, accessed via Orme Street.
