A new three-day Christmas event celebrating traditional carols is set to take place at St Chad’s Church in Pattingham this December.

Entitled Step into Christmas, the event will run from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 December, following the success of the church’s previous Christmas Tree Festivals and last year’s Follow the Star celebration.

The church will be filled with displays and pictures inspired by people's favourite Christmas carols, alongside printed readings from the Bible, bringing the festive season to life under the event’s theme.

Outside, visitors will also be able to enjoy 25 life-sized Christmas-themed silhouettes displayed throughout the churchyard. The silhouettes will be illuminated after dark, creating a festive atmosphere for the village.

A programme of activities is also being arranged for children, both inside and outside the church. These will include a Christmas treasure hunt, a Prayer and Memory Christmas Tree and a gingerbread competition.

Light refreshments will also be available inside the church throughout the event.
