The Winding Wheel in Cannock will temporarily close this month as it undergoes a £270,000 transformation into a new Grandstand sports pub.
Closing on 5 October and reopening on 28 October, the venue will receive a major upgrade, including giant screens, an immersive sound system, tiered seating and improved outdoor viewing areas designed to bring a big-match atmosphere to every sporting event.
The revamped pub will continue to screen a wide range of live sport, from football and rugby to Formula 1, cricket, darts and horse racing.
As part of the refurbishment, local residents are being encouraged to contribute sporting photographs and memorabilia that celebrate the achievements of Cannock’s teams and athletes.
Marston’s says the investment reflects the pub’s strong connection to local sports clubs and community groups, with the new-look venue aiming to become a hub for fans across the area.
The Winding Wheel will welcome customers back through its doors on 28 October.
