Alton Towers Resort comprises a theme park, water park, mini golf course, spa and hotel complex. As well as being the largest theme park in the UK - spanning 910 acres of land - it is also one of the most visited attractions of its kind. Opened in 1980, the venue is home to more than 40 rides and attractions, including 10 main rollercoasters and 20 attractions aimed at young children and families. Alton Towers hosts special events throughout the year, including its Scarefest Halloween festival and a fireworks display held on the last three days of the season.
