One of the most successful managers in West Bromwich Albion’s history, Gary Megson, will meet Baggies fans this spring at a special An Evening With event hosted by food and cultural hangout Hockley Social Club.
On Wednesday 28 May, the former Newcastle, Everton, Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester City midfielder will share anecdotes and stories from his 40-year career in football.
Megson led West Bromwich Albion to the Premier League in 2002 and 2004, becoming the only manager to win two promotions at The Hawthorns.
Along with sharing memories of his time at Albion, he will also talk about playing for the likes of legendary football managers Brian Clough, Jack Charlton, Howard Wilkinson, and Howard Kendall.
The event announcement coincides with the latest move by West Bromwich Albion to replace latest head coach Tony Mowbray after just three months of his second spell in charge.
An Evening with Gary Megson, hosted by sports journalist and author Chris Lepkowski, is in support of the West Bromwich Albion’s Former Players Association and Inspire Afrika.
Inspire Afrika is a Kenya-based charity drawn from volunteers in the West Midlands that helps children and families in Kenya. Focused on education, support, and resource provision, Inspire Afrika empowers children to reach their full potential.
Their mission is to foster sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for the communities they serve, creating lasting, positive change.
WBA FPA, founded in 2003, has helped some ex-West Bromwich Albion players with financial, personal and moral support.
