Symphony Hall was officially opened by the Queen in 1991, holds over two thousand, two hundred people and is home to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. It is run in conjunction with Birmingham Town Hall. Between them, the two iconic venues present over six hundred events a year, with classical, jazz, folk, rock, pop and world concerts all featuring in their programme.
