A Shropshire Historical Pageant and Comus Tercentenary 1934 costume exhibition at Shropshire Museums' Collecton Centre in Ludlow, South Shropshire.

In 1934, the people of Shropshire were united by the 300 year anniversary of Milton’s Comus, written for and performed in Ludlow Castle.

In this exhibition you will see the costumes worn by performers in this historic theatrical performance which took place over four days in summer of 1934. The whole community supported the performance which also included a pageant through the ages where the local community paraded through the streets of Ludlow town in historic dress.

This unique collection from local history features costumes, ephemera and original footage of the parade through the streets of Ludlow.
