Neenton Community Society, which owns and runs the Pheasant at Neenton has announced the appointment of award-winning chef, presenter and hospitality consultant Marcus Bean.

Marcus joins the team supporting the directors of the much-loved community-owned pub as it enters an exciting new phase.

Following the decision by long-serving managers Mark and Sarah to step down after 12 years, Marcus has been appointed as a hospitality consultant, working alongside the directors a couple of days each week to help guide the transition and build on the pub's strong foundations.

His role will include recruiting and developing a new management team, creating fresh seasonal menus, refining the food and drink offering, supporting marketing and social media, and helping give the business a thoughtful refresh while ensuring it remains at the heart of the local community.

Marcus, who is well known throughout Shropshire and across the UK through his work as a chef, television presenter and hospitality consultant, believes The Pheasant has a unique opportunity to write its next successful chapter.

The plans include developing new seasonal menus using quality ingredients, strengthening links with local producers, building an enthusiastic and passionate team, creating engaging events throughout the year and ensuring The Pheasant continues to be a destination for both locals and visitors alike.

Recruitment for several positions has started, so if you’re interested in becoming part of the team, get in touch with Marcus at marcusbeanchef@icloud.com.
