Armed forces personnel, veterans and their families are invited to an afternoon of Easter‑themed fun as the Christopher Turley Armed Forces Community Hub in Dawley hosts its Easter Egg‑stravaganza on Wednesday 8 April.
Running from 3pm to 6pm, the afternoon will begin with an activity session including an Easter quiz, which will reveal the secret location of the Easter Bunny, alongside a range of Easter craft activities suitable for all ages. Families will also have the chance to meet a selection of friendly animals including a rabbit, a gerbil, a pygmy hedgehog and a tenrec, offering a hands‑on experience that children and adults can enjoy together.
From 5pm to 6pm, the Hub will host a relaxed pizza tea, giving attendees the chance to unwind and socialise with other veterans and families from the local community.
The Christopher Turley Armed Forces Community Hub provides a dedicated space offering specialist support, signposting services and a welcoming social environment for serving personnel, veterans and their families. It operates as a one‑stop‑shop for the armed forces community and forms part of Telford & Wrekin Council’s wider commitment to the Armed Forces.
This Easter event builds on the Hub’s continuing mission to bring the armed forces community together, following recent investment and ongoing efforts to expand support and opportunities available to those who have served.
Councillor Paul Davis, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for the Armed Forces, said: “The Easter Egg‑stravaganza is a wonderful example of how we are bringing our armed forces community together in a fun, family‑friendly way.
“The Christopher Turley Armed Forces Community Hub is all about connection, wellbeing and giving something back to those who serve or have served. We’re delighted to offer an event that celebrates that spirit while giving veterans and their families a chance to enjoy an engaging afternoon of activities.”
