A series of magical and spooky after-dark experiences are set to transform Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses this October as the National Trust prepares for a Halloween season packed with illuminated trails, family fun and eerie surprises.

Taking place across the October half-term holidays, the unique sandstone dwellings will be brought to life after dark with special Halloween-themed events designed for visitors of all ages.

Running from 23 to 30 October, Halloween Illuminations at the Rock Houses invites families to explore the atmospheric site by lantern light. Visitors can make a magic wand, meet the White Witch, hear spooky stories and discover surprises hidden among the illuminated rock homes.

For those who prefer a gentler experience, All the Lights with None of the Frights takes place on Sunday 25 October. The special evening offers the chance to enjoy the spectacular illuminated setting without the scares, performers or Halloween activities, allowing guests to explore the Rock Houses at their own pace. The tearoom will also be open serving homemade treats.

The Halloween celebrations culminate on Saturday 31 October with Halloween Fright Night, promising an extra dose of spooky fun as the historic Rock Houses glow after dark for a special Halloween evening.

Carved into the sandstone ridge at Kinver Edge, the famous Rock Houses provide one of Staffordshire's most unusual visitor attractions, offering a fascinating glimpse into a way of life that continued there until the 1960s.
