Honey Box Live is set to return to Keele University’s Clock House Courtyard this month, bringing another afternoon of live music and local talent to the outdoor venue.

The touring music showcase, often compared to a live version of Later... with Jools Holland, will take place on Sunday 27 September as part of Keele University’s Welcome Week celebrations. The event is open to the public as well as students.

This year’s line-up features acoustic favourite Last Gary on Earth, punkabilly outfit The Two Step Goodbyes and soul-fusion five-piece Onjah, who are reuniting specially to perform at the event.

Produced in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Honey Box Live combines live performances with a unique broadcast format. Hosted by presenters and filmed by the Honey Box production team, the entire show is streamed live online as it happens, giving audiences both at the venue and around the world the chance to experience the performances in real time.

Since launching, the programme has showcased more than 150 acts across nine online series, helping to shine a spotlight on emerging artists from Staffordshire and beyond.

Pete Herbert, producer of Honey Box, said: “This is our third visit to the Clock House Courtyard and it’s such a unique setting for live music. Working with Arts Keele again is a real pleasure, and this year’s line-up reflects the incredible range of talent we have across The Potteries.

“It’s a great mix of soul, punk and acoustic music, all presented in a format that gives audiences the feeling of being part of a live television broadcast.”
