A brand-new illuminated event is coming to Rudyard Lake this autumn, promising an evening of colour, music and family entertainment on the water.

Lights on the Lake will take place on Saturday 10 October, offering visitors the chance to experience one of Staffordshire Moorlands’ most picturesque locations in a completely different light.

Organisers have created the event as a new alternative to the lake’s much-loved fireworks display, inviting families, couples and friends to enjoy a magical evening beside the water.

As darkness falls, illuminated boats will glide across the lake, casting colourful reflections across the water while trees around the shoreline are bathed in light. Visitors can also enjoy live music, fairground rides, steam train rides and a selection of hot food and drinks throughout the evening.

One of the highlights of the event will be the opportunity to climb aboard one of Rudyard Lake’s illuminated Bell Boats and become part of the spectacle, watching the lights dance across the water from the lake itself.

Tickets are priced at £5 for adults, £2.50 for children and £14 for a family ticket covering two adults and two children. Organisers have stressed that tickets must be purchased in advance, with no sales available on the gate or on the night.

The event is being launched as a trial, with organisers hoping that strong support from visitors will allow it to grow into an even bigger attraction in future years. All proceeds from the evening will go towards maintaining and improving Rudyard Lake and its facilities.
