Toot Toot! A Staffordshire theme park is marking a 15-year milestone since a really useful engine and his loyal friends first chuffed into town.

Drayton Manor in Tamworth kicked off celebrations for the special birthday of Thomas Land on Saturday, with a host of exciting events and activities.

And with party games, a Thomas-themed Easter egg hunt and special performances from Knapford Station balcony, little visitors were not left disappointed.

Sir Topham Hatt was in fine form, roaming the specially decorated area for meet and greets with flag waving youngsters, along with sidekicks Rusty and Dusty.

The regular live entertainment included the Party Time in Thomas Land show, as well as stints from Rory the Lion, and Viking Walkabouts over in the main theme park.

Thomas was specially dressed for the occasion with a beautiful birthday hat, as he escorted delighted families around the ever enchanting and super efficient Sodor Railway with the help of pals James and Percy.

Meanwhile, all the usual rides were in full frenetic action, with visitors enjoying a whistlestop ride with Winston, taking to the skies with Harold and Jeremy or daring to drop on Cranky The Crane.

Over in the 4D cinema, there's even a special screening of a new Thomas movie to celebrate the big day.

A lot has changed since Thomas Land welcomed its first visitors in 2008, but the attraction continues to enthrall its young audience and no doubt  holds a special place in the hearts of many families who have made previous memories there throughout the years.

Thomas Land's birthday celebrations run until April 30. Get your tickets here.
