After reintroducing a family of beavers earlier this year, Trentham is introducing three new attractions: the Daytime Wildlife Safari, Wildlife Cruises and Beaver Dusk Safari, offering people a chance to learn about Trentham's commitment to conservation and spot a range of wildlife.

Guided Wildlife Cruises will take place every Wednesday aboard Trentham Estate's eco-friendly electric catamaran, Miss Elizabeth. Guests can embark on a picturesque journey around the Capability Brown Lake, discovering the thriving wildlife and breath-taking landscape at Trentham, accompanied by an expert Wildlife Ranger. With recent arrivals of water voles and Eurasian beavers, the wildlife population has flourished, enhancing the natural beauty of the area. From the water's vantage point, guests can spot the island Heron and Cormorant nesting sites, observing fascinating signs of various wildlife species that call the lake home.

The Daytime Wildlife Safari offers guests the opportunity to explore the beaver enclosure on foot, accompanied by knowledgeable wildlife experts. Witness the beavers' fascinating activities up close and gain insights into Trentham's rewilding and conservation initiatives. From a diverse array of bird species and intriguing insects to potential sightings of beavers, water voles, and weasels, these safaris promise a fascinating adventure into the heart of Trentham's wildlife.

And now that the family of Eurasian beavers have settled into their new home, the first of the Beaver Dusk Safaris will begin on Thursday 8 June, starting at 9pm and led by Trentham’s Beaver & Wildlife Ranger. Beavers are crepuscular mammals and they are active at dawn and dusk, so these special tours are a great opportunity for visitors to spot the newest Trentham residents.

In addition to these exciting wildlife initiatives, Trentham Estate welcomes Duncan Coleman as the newest Wildlife Ranger. With over 15 years of experience in the environmental education sector, Duncan is well-equipped to lead the estate's rewilding efforts and spearhead their latest wildlife opportunities. Duncan's expertise ensures a seamless integration of the current Beaver project while enhancing engagement and educational experiences for visitors. Duncan will work alongside Trentham’s Beaver & Wildlife Ranger, Harvey Tweats, who oversaw the reintroduction of beavers earlier this year.
