This summer, the RAF Museum Midlands is giving young people aged 11–13 the opportunity to take part in an exciting five-day RAF Summer Camp, packed with hands-on STEM experiences in a unique aviation environment.

Delivered in partnership with Tablet Academy, the immersive programme is designed to inspire the next generation of innovators through science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Throughout the week, participants will explore robotics, flight, coding, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and collaborative engineering challenges, all while learning in the inspiring surroundings of the RAF Museum.

With only 20 places available per week, the RAF Summer Camp will run from 27-31 July and 3-7 August, from 9.45am to 4.00pm each day. The cost is £140 per child and includes all workshop materials, activities and a certificate of achievement.

During the camp, participants will take part in a range of engaging projects and challenges, including:

Monday – LEGO Engineering & Aeronautics

  • Build a vehicle capable of towing an aircraft using LEGO Spike Prime technology.
  • Discover how real-world aeronautical systems operate and recreate them through robotics.
  • Explore aircraft engineering systems on a hands-on Museum walk.

Tuesday – Digital Creations & Virtual Worlds

  • Experiment with AI-powered creative tools and design your own content using Adobe Express.
  • Create and explore immersive virtual environments with CoSpaces and VR technology.

Wednesday – Minecraft Missions & Robotics

  • Take to the skies in the Minecraft Elytra Flight Challenge.
  • Develop problem-solving skills through Sphero Blueprints and robotics-based design challenges.

Thursday – Cybersecurity & AI Discovery

  • Step into the world of wartime codebreaking and learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity.
  • Train and test your own AI models using Teachable Machines.

Friday – Ultimate Build Challenge

  • Put your new skills into action in a full-day engineering challenge.
  • Work in teams to design, build and present innovative projects to showcase and take home.

The RAF Summer Camp offers a fun, engaging and educational experience that helps young people develop valuable STEM skills, build confidence and strengthen teamwork, while exploring the fascinating worlds of aviation and technology.
