History lovers can sample a taste of life in the 15th century at Avoncroft this month, where the Wars of the Roses takes centre stage. 

Expect dramatic re-enactments featuring sword fighting, cannon fire and archery, presented alongside demonstrations of weaponry and gunpowder. 

Visitors can explore living-history camps and learn all about everyday life during medieval times, from cooking and clothes-making to traditional trades, skills and games. 

The Beaufort Companye will be on hand to showcase costumes and crafts, while families can enjoy rides on the museum’s miniature railway.
