Citing such eclectic influences as The Beatles, Velvet Underground, classical composers including Bach and Schubert, and the films of Werner Herzog, Polish indie rock band Trupa Trupa not surprisingly boast a sound all of their own.

Songwriter (and published poet) Grzegorz Kwiatkowski writes lyrics for the three-piece that he describes as exploring “rather dark and rather frighting sides of human nature”, and sums up their music as “a meditative, pessimistic thing”.

Further insight into the style and substance of their output is offered by the band’s name, which, roughly translated into English, means ‘a troupe of corpses’.
