Armonico Consort, under the direction of Christopher Monks, bring three exciting choral performances to Warwickshire and Worcestershire this year. With choral magic from Rachmaninov, Bach's 'greatest hits' and a family friendly epic, with tales of heros and mythical creatures...
Widely praised as Rachmaninov’s greatest achievement, the composer managed to find a way of turning the choir into an orchestra, both texturally and dynamically. In the exquisite late evening candlelit setting, be transported by this gorgeous choral music, with hour-long performances at Warwick's Collegiate Church of St Mary and Malvern Theatres.
On Tuesday 15 July, you are invited to an epic performance of Beowulf.
The concert features music inspired by the medieval poem of the same name. Immerse yourself in an era of heroes and warriors as Prince Beowulf confronts demons and mythical creatures, with narration brought to life by celebrity guest narrator Oz Clarke.
Beowulf guarantees to excite the whole family and is the perfect introduction to the breath-taking exhilaration of live music, performed at Warwick Hall.
Composed over the final 25 years of his life and completed just one year before he died, the Mass is scattered with music and references that Bach considered to be his best work. Never performed complete in his lifetime, this work is in effect Bach’s own self-obituary, how he wanted to be remembered by the world.
This concert will mark the autumnal return of Armonico to at Warwick's Collegiate Church of St Mary and Malvern Theatres.
