Shakespeare's Schoolroom & Guildhall in Stratford-upon-Avon is inviting families to step into a summer of woodland magic, with two enchanting activities inspired by fairy tales, magic forests and imaginative worlds.

Until Sunday 16 August, Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall is joining the nationwide Magic Faraway Tree Museum Adventure, organised by Kids in Museums in partnership with Blyton Books. Themed around Enid Blyton's much-loved The Magic Faraway Tree stories, which have recently inspired a hit film, children following the spotter trail will have clues to solve and fun activities to complete as they explore the historic building – from the Land of Topsy Turvy to the Land of Presents!

The Magic Faraway Tree Museum Adventure is free, with trail packs available from the welcome desk.  Children completing the trail will receive a special Magic Faraway Tree Museum Adventure sticker!

From Monday 17 August to Monday 31 August, families can take part in a craft activity inspired by the enchanting woodland world of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, where mischief and mayhem abound.  Using pine cones and colourful craft materials, children will be able to create their own magical fairy or sprite decoration to take home as a reminder of their visit.

Enchanted Woodland Creations craft packs will be available from the welcome desk priced £2.50 and include everything needed to make your fairy friend.

The Family Friendly fun at Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall continues with the opportunity to take part in an interactive lesson with Master Thomas Jenkins, the Tudor schoolmaster who taught Shakespeare, plus traditional games, quill writing, puzzles and dress-up.  All of these activities are included in the admission price.

Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall is open daily (11am to 5pm).  Summer Saver entry is Adults £13.15, Concessions £11.85, Children (5-16) £7.45 (under 5’s free), Families (2 adults & 2 children) £29.35, Extra Child with family ticket £4.85.  Tickets can be bought in advance here or on the day from the welcome desk.  Visitors can also buy combined tickets with the MAD Museum and other attractions connected to William Shakespeare’s life, including Shakespeare’s Birthplace, New Place and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage.
