The ever-popular Spectacle of Light is set to return to the gorgeous grounds of Sudeley Castle this winter for its eleventh year, promising visitors a magical journey into the fantastical world of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Running on selected evenings from 20th November - 30th December, this years’ experience will bring the classic tale to life with magnificent illuminations, immersive storytelling, live characters and a host of new installations.

Visitors will follow the White Rabbit as they wind through Sudeley’s beautifully manicured, award-winning gardens, encountering familiar faces from Wonderland along the way including the mysterious March Hare, the eccentric Mad Hatter, the comedic TweedleDum and TweedleDee, and the Queen of Hearts herself. 

An illuminated archway beckons guests into Wonderland, where Sudeley Castle provides a breathtaking backdrop for the Queen of Hearts’ kingdom. The castle façade will come to life with projections, alongside a giant chessboard on the Mulberry Lawn and the mysterious Smoking Keyhole, inviting guests to discover what lies beyond.

Along the way, familiar scenes unfold, from the Mad Hatter’s tea party to the Queen of Hearts berating the Knave of Hearts, as the royal gardeners frantically paint the white roses red. In the Secret Garden, dreamlike clouds create an ethereal setting, while Alice meets the grinning Cheshire Cat, who’s nestled within the branches of the magnificent cedar tree.

As they explore, visitors can keep toasty with a delicious selection of festive drinks, including warming spiced mulled wine and sprinkled hot chocolate, alongside delicious hot food, including fresh, fluffy donuts from the Castle Terrace.
