The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) is pleased to announce its participation in the UK’s largest celebration of community action on climate change and nature preservation, Great Big Green Week, taking place from 9–16 June. The RSC will host an exciting line-up of free special events in Stratford-upon-Avon, introducing a brand-new environmental tour, and sustainable catering offering. In addition, the Welcome Space will be open to community groups hosting their own Great Big Green Week activities alongside a range of other inspiring events happening across the town.
RSC Environmental Tour
This free one-off tour of the RSC theatres focuses on the Company’s environmental actions and initiatives. Attendees will learn about all aspects of the RSC’s work from improvements to the buildings; environmental considerations in the shop and café; and steps to reduce the environmental impact of what goes on and comes off stage.
Learn about climate change and what is being done locally to create a low-carbon culture. Attend both sessions to qualify for your certificate from the Carbon Literacy Project.
The Stratford-upon-Avon Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers invite you to discover the beauty of spinning, weaving, and braiding with live demonstrations, celebrating eco-conscious techniques and sustainable creative expression.
Co-led by Lucy Parrott Writing Workshops and Lily Holbrook, Blue Health Coach at the RSC, this session invites you swap scrolling for scribing, as we explore Shakespeare's seven ages of man as they relate to the seven ages of water. This workshop is in collaboration with River Hope, an emerging community creative process in Stratford.
