For its final event in the 2022/23 season, Leamington Music returns to The Dream Factory in Warwick bringing an opera from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire to the region.

The Enchanted Pig by Jonathan Dove will be performed at The Dream Factory on Sunday 25 June at 7pm. The cast of ten solo singers, plus chorus and orchestra will be conducted by Anthony Kraus and the opera is directed by Stuart Barker.

The Enchanted Pig has been described as “a magical family show for children aged 8 to 80!” and the story is based on Romanian and Norwegian folk tales. While the King is away at war, his three daughters enter a forbidden room in the castle where they find a book that predicts their fortunes. Two will marry a prince, but the third will marry a pig. Of course all comes out well in the end, but there is plenty of fun on the way!

As part of Leamington Music’s Education Programme, student teams will be visiting schools in Warwick and Leamington on Thursday 15 June to give participatory workshops to introduce opera to children.

Children and students can attend the performance on Sunday 25 June with tickets for just £1. This offer is available for all Leamington Music events.

Tickets for this performance on 25 June are available online from leamingtonmusic.org
