A romantic seven course menu has been launched by a Leamington restaurant for couples who love Valentine’s weekend.

The Warwick at Mallory Court Hotel and Spa has lovingly launched the limited-edition menu, which will be available on the evenings of February 13 and 15 between 6.30pm and 9.15pm, with Valentine’s Day itself now sold out.

Executive Head Chef and MasterChef: The Professionals winner, Stu Deeley, has carefully curated the menu with ingredients designed to stimulate desire.

Barbecued lobster is one of the items on the set menu, and when combined with a slightly spicy xo sauce and sweet granny smith apple, provides fireworks for the taste buds.

For those seeking an endorphin hit, indulge in spicy Italian salami called nduja, which includes chilli and forms part of a dish called kataifi wrapped cackled bean egg, coco bean and nduja cassoulet, which is a delicate egg appetizer served with a rich, spicy bean stew.

Other dishes provide an opportunity for couples to try something new. These include cured chalk stream trout with pink radish, chicory, blood orange and a Japanese condiment called furikake.

Ox cheeks, meanwhile, are served in bon bon style with salsa verde sauce which is both tangy and savoury to add a vibrant kick.

As the night wears on the romance steps up a notch with a dessert called lychee and hibiscus baked Alaska, with tropical and floral flavours contrasted and a toasty, warm meringue. Lychee is known as the “fruit of love” in China where it was once treated as a rare gift. Guests can stimulate their senses with a passion fruit kiss bon bon.

Diners will also be greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival, and the evening will also include canapes, coffee and petit fours.

Stu said: “This is a menu that encourages couples to slow down, linger and enjoy each other’s company.

“We take pride in sourcing our seasonal ingredients from trusted British suppliers which sometimes means some of the ingredients may be subject to change, but nevertheless, they are lively and luxurious in taste which hopefully sets the tone for a memorable and romantic evening.”
