Twelve year olds, Juno and Sam, are raising money for Shrewsbury Food Hub by busking every day at the Shrewsbury Vanlife Festival from 30 May – 1 June.
Juno and Sam perform as The SCARKEEZ, and have been busking together for a couple of years. Juno sings and plays keyboard, and Sam is on drums. Their two-hour set features around 20 songs, spanning from the 60s to the 2010s.
Their target is £1,000 and donations will be taken at the event and online via their fundraising page here.
Juno and Sam were inspired to support Shrewsbury Food Hub after learning about the incredible work they do – rescuing surplus food and distributing it to around 65 local charities, community groups and food shares.
The Vanlife Festival invited The SCARKEEZ to perform after seeing videos of their busking sessions in York. The Vanlife Festival is a major UK event celebrating van culture with workshops, travel talks, live music, entertainment, a selection of bars and fantastic street food.
This isn’t Juno and Sam's first fundraising effort either – last year they raised over £1,300 for the renovation of their primary school library.
More details about them can be found on their website.
