Featuring Bruce O'Neil (conductor) & Viv McLean (piano)

Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus Overture opens the concert in a side-by-side performance bringing together professional players from Orchestra of the Swan and talented young musicians from Warwick Schools Foundation.

Also featured is pianist Viv McLean (see below) who will perform Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 - a work of lyricism, elegance and youthful confidence, written when the composer was just twenty years old.

The programme concludes with Sibelius’s Fifth Symphony, famously inspired by the Finnish landscape and the sight of swans soaring overhead.

*Award-winning pianist Viv McLean has performed with leading orchestras at major venues including Wigmore Hall and at festivals such as Cheltenham Music Festival, with appearances across Europe, Japan, Australia and the USA.

Bruce O'Neil conducts.
