Archaeologist Hilary Calow brings the site’s past to life.

Join archaeologist and Compton Verney volunteer Hilary Calow as she explores, with the help of visual aids, how evidence of pre-historic, Roman, Anglo Saxon and medieval activity has gradually been coming to light at Compton Verney. You will discover hidden secrets and learn about some of the mysteries still to be explored, looking at Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown’s Georgian Chapel and Compton Verney’s role in World War II. You will also have the opportunity to look at and handle some of Compton Verney’s archaeological finds.

Recommended for ages 14 and above.

This event will take place outside. Meet at the back of the Welcome Centre and will last approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
