An exhibition celebrating Coventry Singer/actress Hazel O’Connor
An exhibition offering key moments in the life of Coventry Singer/actress Hazel O’Connor, including a detailed recreation of a 1980’s London tube carriage that features in the film Breaking Glass as a metaphor for going on a life journey. Already wowing visitors, the museum was attended by Hazels’ backing band The Subterraneans, who along with Grammy winning producer Roger Lomas and Hazel’s great friend Danny Gerrard opened the exhibition. Her other Blujar band mates Sarah Fisher and Clare Hirst gave a superb set that featured the film’s most iconic song “Will You”.
Curator of the museum Dr. Pete Chambers BEM said of the exhibition. “This will be a perfect way to thank one of our own for all the joy her music and acting has bought us. Hazel is of course recovering from illness at the moment and this is our way of brightening her day and just thanking her and sending our love, the exhibition is like a huge 'Get Well soon' card. Those who saw the iconic film Breaking Glass know how it made Hazel a huge star, and as always our amazing team have created a very special photo opportunity based on the film at the museum, you won’t want to miss this!”
The museum and exhibition is open Thursday to Sunday, and is located in Coventry's 2-Tone Quarter on Ball Hill. The expo is sponsored by skybluearchive.com
