May marks the start of the best time of year to visit Witley Court & Gardens for its dazzling display of rhododendrons. As the sun has been shining brighter over the ruins of the grand, forty-six-acre estate in Worcestershire in recent days, the light and deep pinks of these flowers have begun to show their marvellous colour.

Mark Pardey, Head Gardener at Witley Court explains: “The rhododendrons at Witley Court are some of our sites most spectacular flowers and are a real treat for visitors to see at this time of year. We believe some of the plants are original specimens planted in the Victorian era by subsequent generations of the Dudley family.”

“Despite the rather wet winter and cool start to spring, the mass of flowers are gradually building to their spectacular climax, with colour evident across the site throughout May and into June. Key areas to view include the woodlands, the dell below the lake, and in the glorious splendour of the parterres that surround the ruin of Witley Court.”

Witley Court is open from 10am to 5pm every day throughout the Spring and Summer, with an upcoming Father’s Day event in June and special activities for families during May half-term and the school holidays in July and August.
