Coventry’s number one place to go, according to Trip Advisor, has just welcomed its 50,000th visitor at its Ball Hill HQ.
On Sunday 19 October, the award-winning Coventry Music Museum, welcomed the Sampson family from Surrey and Chris who paid for the family became the 50,000th visitor to the museum. They were presented with a full bag of goodies that included books and vinyl and a very special ‘one-off’ pendant that gives the family free access to the Music Museum for life.
The family said of the award: “I couldn't quite believe it, and I thought it was a joke to start. I thought you did that with everybody. It’s amazing, Caroline has been before and yeah, we will definitely be coming back it, as it always feels great to come in, thanks you so much”.
Music Museum Curator Pete Chambers said: “This is such an achievement, the fact we have bought so many people into our city, and so many use the local shops and amenities on Ball Hill when they visit us. That amount becomes even more amazing when you realise, we have always charged an admission fee and we only open four days a week, it’s a great score. I just keep imagining how 50,000 people would look in the stands of the CBS arena it would be a full house and another 13,000 in the car parks! I want to thank all our volunteers, our board and of course all our amazing visitors all 50,000 of them”.
The museum can be found in Coventry’s 2-Tone Quarter at the 2-Tone Village Walsgrave Road, Coventry, CV2 4ED. It’s open Thursday to Saturday 10.00am to 4.00pm (last entry at 3.30pm) and Sunday from 10.00am to 3.00pm (last entry at 2.30pm). Entry is just £6.00 for adults, free for children and £4.00 for Senior Citizens and Students
