After welcoming over 1,000 people to last year’s hugely successful Family Fun Open Day, Caudwell Children ihas announced the event’s return for 2025, and this year promises to be extra special as the charity marks its 25th anniversary.
On Friday 8 August between 10am - 3pm, the award-winning Caudwell International Children’s Centre will once again open its doors to families for a free day of excitement, entertainment, and birthday-themed fun.
The event promises a variety of fun and interactive activities suitable for all children and their families to enjoy. Highlights will include animal meet and greets, including Oakmoor Alpacas, a sensory bus provided by Ruby’s Fund, an exciting games room, a DJ session from Gifted Workshops, powerchair football and Bee Active inflatable assault course.
The day will also spotlight Caudwell Children’s Time to Shine competition winners Evie, Nevaeh and Finley, showcasing their amazing talents. Visitors can also look forward to sweet treat from the Big Birthday Bake campaign with head judge Heather, owner of Cherry on Top cake shop, selling the winning cupcake designed by Lizzie aged 9.
Sponsored by Trentham Foods, the family open day will also highlight the charity’s core services, career and volunteering opportunities and families can ask the clinical team any questions they have.
Visitors can leisurely explore the Centre, taking in its state-of-the-art facilities, including the Autism Assessment and Sensory Rooms. As the UK’s first purpose-built centre for multi-disciplinary therapy for childhood disability and research of neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism, the Centre stands as a beacon of innovation and support.
The design of the Centre was achieved through direct consultation with beneficiaries and stakeholders, ensuring a fully inclusive, welcoming, and purpose-built environment for all disabled and autistic children.
Vicky Glanville-Wallett, Event Coordinator at Caudwell Children said “We’re so excited to welcome families back to the Caudwell International Children’s Centre for what promises to be our biggest and best Family Fun Open Day yet. Celebrating 25 years of Caudwell Children makes this year extra special, and we can’t wait to see children, parents, carers and supporters come together to enjoy a fun-filled day. It’s a wonderful chance for families to see first-hand how we’re changing lives every day.”
