Compton Verney is inviting visitors to enjoy a packed programme of Halloween activities this October half term, with woodland adventures, creative workshops, LEGO and den building for families, plus a special After Hours event for adults. 

October Half Term begins with free drop-in activities on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, including Halloween LEGO and Fantastical Creatures. Children can create creepy characters, ghosts, ghouls, pumpkins and spooky scenes with LEGO, before joining artist Niall Singh to create strange and imaginative creatures and scenes through 3D collage.  

From Wednesday 28 October - Sunday 1 November, families can join the Forest Folk on an adventure in The Magical Owl, an interactive storytelling experience, sharing stories and spells as they try to make the magical Wishing Woodland Owl fly. Various time slots are available, with an early bird price of £10 per person. 

Families can make a day of it with more activities taking place throughout the week. Beyond the outdoor woodland playground, the den building area will be seasonally decorated and updated with new building materials. Indoors, the Halloween Art Trolley provides further free creative activities.  

For younger children aged up to four looking for gently spooky fun, Get Mucky, Get Making on Thursday 29 October, 10.30am-12.30pm, combines outdoor play with a forest school twist. Tickets cost £7.50 per child. 

For adults, After Hours returns on Saturday 31 October from 6–9.30pm, offering visitors the chance to experience Compton Verney in the evening. There’s a different atmosphere as artists, musicians, performers and craft workshops take over the galleries and grounds. There’ll also be tours of the exhibitions, including Raqib Shaw: Night Sonnets, an exhibition which invites visitors to embrace the night. Tickets are £15 each. 

Free activities are included in admission. Accompanying adults will need to have purchased a day ticket to Compton Verney to access them. Find out more here.
