The extraordinary mid-20th-century success of Hancock’s Half Hour is hard to convey some 70 years after it premiered on BBC radio. Suffice to say that with scripts supplied by an early-career Galton & Simpson, and with its star, Birmingham-born comedian Tony Hancock, at the very peak of his powers, the show quickly became the stuff of legend - and particularly after it transferred to television in 1956... 
Award-winning theatre company Hambledon Productions here pay homage to the show by recreating, live on stage, three ‘lost’ episodes from the original TV series: The Bequest, The Auction and The Russian Prince.
