Allens Caravans has welcomed the decision by Wychavon District Council’s Planning Committee to give a resolution to grant planning permission to extend Bredon View Holiday Park Estate and Golf Course in Great Comberton, a move that will bring significant investment, jobs and long-term benefits to the local area.
The council decision allows for the installation of 145 new holiday lodges at the park, in addition to the existing planning permission for 81 holiday homes. The expansion represents a major milestone for the family-owned business and reflects a shared commitment with the council to sustainable development in a rural setting.
James Allens, CEO of Allens Caravans, said: “We are delighted that we have received a resolution to grant planning permission for 145 new holiday lodges by Wychavon District Council Planning Committee. From the outset, we have worked closely and constructively with the council and its planning officers to ensure these plans enhance the park while respecting the local environment. The team at Allens Caravans, along with the guidance of Paul Harwood and Charly Stringer at planning consultancy Avison Young, have held numerous meetings with planning, tree and landscaping teams to get this right, and we’re proud of the collaborative approach that has shaped the final proposal.
“High-quality landscaping will significantly improve the park, and we are firmly committed to conservation and to supporting rural communities. This development has been carefully designed to sit comfortably within its surroundings and to provide long-term benefits for both visitors and local residents.
“We will work with local suppliers and contractors during the build phase and will employ local people to deliver the improvements, continuing to liaise closely with the council throughout the project.
“The expansion will provide a strong boost to the local economy throughout the year. Economic benefits will be felt both during construction and once the new lodges are occupied, with increased visitor spending supporting local businesses, services and attractions. The development will improve access to the surrounding countryside, helping to promote outdoor activity and supporting health and wellbeing for holidaymakers and the wider community.”
