Popeyes are offering three lucky people the chance to win free chicken burgers for a year when its Worcester restaurant opens its doors for the first time this December.

The popular restaurant chain that specialises in Louisiana-style fried chicken, is set to open in Cathedral Square in Worcester at 11am on Monday 8 December.

The first three people inside will win free chicken sandwiches for a year while exclusive merchandise and more free food will also be up for grabs.

A Popeyes spokesperson said: "On opening day, the first three customers will win the ultimate prize of free chicken sandwiches for an entire year.

"Plus, the first 50 customers in the queue will be treated to exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise and the first 100 will bag a free chicken sandwich.

"Popeyes has become known for round-the-block queues on opening day, with fans in Birmingham lining up for 27 hours to get their first taste of the legendary chicken sandwich earlier this year.

"To be part of the action, the team is advising hungry customers to get down early to avoid missing out on the epic giveaways."

The new restaurant will be the 46th new Popeyes to open this year and has created 51 new jobs in Worcester.

Tom Crowley, CEO of Popeyes UK, said: “As we continue our rapid expansion across the UK, we’re excited to bring our first Popeyes restaurant to Worcestershire.

"There is a huge appetite for our Louisiana fried chicken in the West Midlands, and we can’t wait to introduce Worcester locals to our legendary chicken sandwich and the vibrant spirit of New Orleans."
