Come face to face with the past as The Commandery’s most-anticipated event of the year, Living History, returns this February.

From living history encampments, musicians, dancers, and traditional crafts to military displays, the whole site will be alive with characters and demonstrations on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February.

Organised in partnership with the Worcester re-enactors, visitors can encounter reenactors throughout the Grade-1 listed building and gardens, where they’ll be displaying historical weaponry.

Meanwhile historic firing demonstrations including bow and arrow, and gunfire will take place in The Commandery’s spacious gardens.

From pirates to early Scouts, there will be another period of history to explore around every corner. The event takes place in one of Worcester’s oldest and most beautiful buildings, which is most famous for being the Royalist Headquarters during the Battle of Worcester, 1651.

Commandery events officer, Helen Manning, says: “Living History is such an exciting way to kick off The Commandery’s year. It’s a really immersive way to discover and learn about history. We can’t wait to see you there!”

Usual admission to The Commandery applies; for further information visit museumsworcestershire.org.uk.
