Motorcyclists can cruise on down to Droitwich Spa this month when the town hosts its first Bike Night.

Up to 200 motorcyclists are expected to ride into the High Street from 5pm to 9pm on Thursday 15 August.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the bikes on offer, socialise with other rides and swap experiences about the freedom of the open road.

Food and drink will be on offer from local businesses including pork baps from Ermi's Sandwich & Bubble Tea Bar. Several local pubs are also putting on special offers to support the night.

Droitwich Spa Place Board is organising the event with support from Wychavon and Droitwich Spa Town Council. Bromsgrove Motorcycle Club is also supporting the event. The High Street will be closed from 4pm to 9.30pm.

Tim Kirkham, organiser of Droitwich Bike Night and a member of Droitwich Spa Place Board, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the first Droitwich Bike Night event. This is a fantastic opportunity for motorcycle enthusiasts to socialise, enjoy some fantastic food and celebrate the joy of two wheels. Whether you are a novice rider, a seasoned motorcyclist or just a fan of bikes, come along and enjoy a great night in a welcoming and fun atmosphere.”

Cllr Richard Morris, Executive Board Member for Economic Growth and Tourism on Wychavon District Council, added: “This is another fantastic addition to Droitwich Spa’s social calendar, which supports our aims to boost hospitality and the town’s nighttime economy. This will be the first of, what we hope will be, many new events visitors can enjoy in Droitwich Spa High Street and the wider area over the coming weeks and months.”
