Art lovers are being invited to explore Worcestershire's thriving creative community as Worcestershire Open Studios Art Week returns from Saturday 22 to Monday 31 August.

Now celebrating its 11th year, the county-wide event will bring together more than 180 artists and makers across 100 venues, making it the largest free visual arts event in Worcestershire.

Visitors will have the opportunity to step inside working studios, galleries, workshops and unique creative spaces, meeting artists in person, discovering how their work is created and purchasing original pieces directly from the makers themselves.

This year's event will feature more than 20 different artforms, showcasing the incredible diversity of talent across the county. Alongside painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glasswork, printmaking, woodcraft and blacksmithing, several disciplines will be taking part for the first time, including willow weaving, digital art and illustrated poetry.

From countryside studios and converted barns to town-centre galleries and shared exhibition spaces, visitors can experience art where it is made, often seeing works in progress, demonstrations and sketchbooks alongside finished creations.

New for 2026 is the introduction of Young Membership, designed to support artists and makers aged between 16 and 25 and encourage the next generation of creative talent.

Gemma Griffiths, co-organiser of Worcestershire Open Studios and a participating artist, said: "One of the things that makes Art Week so special is the chance to meet artists and makers in the places where they work. Visitors can discover the stories, inspiration and techniques behind the finished pieces while exploring some wonderful venues across the county.

"Last year we welcomed more than 18,000 visits to studios and venues, and we're looking forward to welcoming even more people this August. Whether you're planning to buy original artwork, explore a new part of Worcestershire or simply enjoy a fascinating day out, there's something for everyone."

The volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation aims to support artists and makers throughout Worcestershire while encouraging people to discover, enjoy and invest in original artwork. Entry to Art Week is free, and many venues will also offer demonstrations, refreshments and opportunities to chat with exhibitors.

Artists taking part in the Malvern area include Charlotte Carver, Anna Cumming, Jim Morris, Wayne Janisch, Hani O'Keeffe, Charlotte Hern and Felicity Robinson.
