Wyre Forest now offers three scooters for hire as part of its scheme to support people with permanent or temporary mobility limitations.

The newest addition, Rambling Rosie, joins Tramping Tony and Muddie Maddy.

Hamish Wood, recreation manager at Wyre Forest, said: "We're thrilled to welcome Rambling Rosie to our existing fleet of mobility scooters.

"This addition means even more people can experience the beauty and tranquility of Wyre Forest, regardless of their mobility needs."

As part of a partnership between Forestry England and the Countryside Mobility scheme, the scooters are designed to handle a variety of surfaces and gradients in all weather conditions.

Neil Warren, strategic manager at Countryside Mobility, said: "Having three mobility scooters available at Wyre Forest is a real boost.

"Our research with users has seen adding additional scooters at existing hire locations become the number one request in recent years."

The existing scooters have recently been upgraded with swivel seats for easier mounting and dismounting, plus sturdy weatherproof storage compartments for personal belongings.

The hire scheme is open to anyone who could benefit from the service, without the need for formal disability registration. For more information, visit forestryengland.uk.
