Coventry is all set to host a string of wicked days out and events this half-term as families seek frightful fun in the city for Halloween.

Visit Coventry, the organisation responsible for supporting tourism in the city, has been working with its partners to highlight the range of events taking place across the citiy for families to enjoy.

From creative crafts and scary stage productions to trick or treat ice skating and spooky cocktails, there is a wide variety on offer for visitors of all ages this October.

St Mary’s Guildhall is set to be a key destination for families throughout half-term, with opportunities to learn about ghostly mysteries of the 14th century building.There will be daily Halloween tours of the historic building and a Ghostly Guildhall Special event on the 30 and 31 October invites families for an adventure with ghostly hosts Mistress Moaning Mary and Wailing Willow. The venue will also be opening the doors to the Tales of Tea restaurant for its popular afternoon teas, with children’s Halloween afternoon teas also on offer for half-term.

Planet Ice, at Coventry Skydome, willbring spooky surprises to the ice rink on Friday 31 October, with two for-one tickets available for its family-friendly Trick or Treat event, which will see skaters visit stations around the ice the collect sweets and prizes.

FarGo Village is set to welcome back the Halloween Makers Market on October 25 and 26 with makers, designers and creatives invited to showcase their wares – and plans also in place for hand-on workshop activities.

Go Ape Coventry will also be open throughout October half-term, with ziplines, treetop adventures and more.

Halloween will also take centre stage at the city’s theatres, including the Albany Theatre that will welcome Real-Life Halloween Horror to the stage – with stories of real-life tales of terror from Coventry’s history.

While The Belgrade Theatre will be hosting a Anansi inspired family trail throughout the half-term week, The Little Yak recycling crafts on 30 October and free family drop-in sessions for nature inspired arts and crafts on 30 and 31 October.

There are also options in the city for adult thrill-seekers, from Friday Fright Night at Planet Ice that will see zombies and characters create a haunting atmosphere. While on the outskirts of the city at Ansty Hall, the hotel will be hosting a full-immersive and interactive Murder Mystery Experience on Thursday 30 October.

Spooky Halloween-themed cocktails will also be being served up behind the bar at The Telegraph Hotel, with exclusive special offers on cocktails including Vampire’s Kiss Martini, Witches Brew and Frankenstein Fizz.

Revellers can head to 147 Nightclub for two major events too with its Halloween party on 31 October and ‘A Haunting on Far Gosford Street’ from 10pm to 5am on 1 November.

Beyond the city limits, there will be activities taking place at other venues across Warwickshire, including a full week of events at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, which are centred around Beep-Beep, Build! Events invite children to create LEGO car models, take part in science shows, trails and tours throughout the holiday.

Meanwhile the Heart of England Conference Centre will be hosting Kids Halloween from 27 to 30 October,  which includes giant inflatables, spooky trade rides and a trip to the enchanted woods to visit a secret witches’ lair. The venue will also host Batty Bingo on 31 October for over 18s to embrace spooky season.
