Claudio Monteverdi’s famous 1610 Vespers never fails to astonish. Written on the cusp of the Renaissance and Baroque, it dazzles with vocal and instrumental virtuosity, burns with fervent devotion, and invites us into its intimate, sensual solos, duets and trios.
This is an unmissable concert. Not only is it an unforgettable opportunity to hear this music of extraordinary scale and invention, but it will be Jeffrey Skidmore's final concert in Birmingham before retirement, and we are absolutely thrilled to it will take place in the glorious gold and marble splendour of The Oratory where Ex Cathedra has so much history. Early booking is highly recommended!
Featuring the Ex Cathedra Choir & Baroque Ensemble; His Majesty's Sagbutts & Cornetts and Jeffrey Skidmore (conductor).
