Severn Arts proudly presents Bridges of Light, a new two-day light festival, with a focus on communities, creativity and collaboration. Coming to Worcester City Centre on the 29 and 30 October from 6-9pm.

Through high-quality artwork, you are invited to share in the festival’s community stories. Visit light installations, take part in interactive light artworks, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy Bridges of Light with family and friends.

The title 'Bridges of Light' covers both literal and metaphorical bridges that connect us to each other, our environment, our self, our heritage - all of which will be showcased through meaningful light artworks created in collaboration with Worcester’s communities and located across the city.

Leading up to the festival, professional artists will be working with a range of community groups. In addition to the artworks, they will create a light trail in the city centre.

Some of the artworks you will see at this year’s festival are; Shadow Dance (Impossible Arts), taking ‘dancing in the streets’ to a whole new level, and Stitching Light আল ো দিল়ে গোাঁ থো (Emergency Exit Arts), a textile and light installation exploring Bangladeshi women’s migration to the UK. A full programme will be announced over the coming weeks.

Laura Worsfold, Severn Arts CEO said: "We are really excited about our new festival, Bridges of Light, and our programme of collaboratively produced light artwork which we will be presenting over the two nights to illuminate Worcester’s city centre.

"Thanks to funding from Arts Council England, we have been able to develop many wonderful new opportunities for our creative professionals to work collaboratively with Worcester’s communities, creating a truly inspiring programme of high-quality artwork for everyone to enjoy."

Bridges of Light is a free, non-ticketed event suitable for all ages. Severn Arts is seeking volunteer support for both nights of the festival. Find out more about the festival and register to volunteer by visiting https://www.severnarts.org.uk/Event/bridges-of-light.
