BalletBoyz (see top of the page) aren’t the only dance ensemble this year celebrating their quarter-century anniversary...

Ballet Black have also notched up 25 glorious years of performance, taking to stages across the world under the guidance of their highly rated artistic director, Cassa Pancho. Comprising British and international dancers of black and Asian descent, the company are visiting Wolverhampton this month with a double bill to mark their special birthday.

The featured works are the Olivier Award-winning Ingoma (2019) - bringing the rarely told stories of Black miners and their communities to the stage - and a new offering from Hope Boykin, created especially for Ballet Black’s anniversary and paying ‘vibrant tribute’ to the company’s journey.
